1. day: base SLUNJ

Source Slunjčica and Rastoke – River Slunjcica dissolves over travertine rocks and flows into the river Korana, in its course through Rastoke creates a multitude of small lakes, rapids and waterfalls, most notably Buk, H. and Fairy hair

2.day: base KARLOVAC

VRLOVKA – cave in Kamanje

  • Vrlovka Cave (or the names of nearby Brlovka Lair-city) is located along the Kupa River, near the railway station Kamanje, halfway between Ozalj and Metlika. Explored the cave is 400 feet (50 meters past the caved), and visitors can tour the 330 meters channel.

5.day: base Zagreb

MEDVEDNICA-nature park ( rich plast and animal life, caves, mines,educational and neanderthalic trails, 13 century fort Medvedgrad )

FAUNA

The aquatic fauna is lush – crayfish and leeches – although there inside the cave

  • Fish – rainbow trout, chub, dvoprugasta sprouts, …
  • Amphibians – frogs: frog meadow, woodland brown frog, green frog, common tree
  • Aquarius: plain, mountain and big newt

  • many plant collections, laboratory, in centre of city

 

Natural History Museum, guided

  • Try to fit in a visit to the Croatian Natural History Museum, which houses a collection of prehistoric tools and bones excavated from the Krapina cave as well as exhibits showing the evolution of animal and plant life in Croatia. Temporary exhibits often focus on specific regions, such as the island of Mljet.
