She is the green-eyed beauty that twists and entices, whose unspoilt coastline attracts adventurers and those who want intact nature. Its attractions are white sandy islands, which appear as in a “fairy tale”.It is one of the last natural water flows in Europe where one can find natural green landscapes, wealth of animal and plant species, and tranquil, sleeping nearby villages rich in culture and tradition giving a warm welcome to visitors.

The upper course the river Drava

Complex of preserved river habitats with underbush, forests, sandy islands and sandbanks. The most interesting species o these sandy shores are Little ringed plover (Charadrius dubius), a Common sandpiper (Actitis hypoleucos), common tern (Sterna hirundo), Little Tern (Sterna albifrons) and Common kingfisher (Alcedo atthis), and the forests and bush hides White-tailed eagle (Haliaeetus albicilla), Common nightingale (Luscinia) and Willow warbler.
